The world is becoming a smaller and smaller place with increasing numbers of businesses operating on a global scale. This is especially true for the tourism and hospitality industry and each of the programs offered by the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management are designed to prepare students to thrive in this environment. This is not only reflected in the broad reaching content of our curricula but we appreciate the invaluable experience to be gained from a real international experience and have numerous opportunities available for adventures abroad.
At RRU we pride ourselves in the applicable nature of our program content, and with internships appearing in every program offered by STHM to enable students to apply their learnings, we give our students a great start on their chosen career path. Many students choose an international internship, recognising the rich learning to be had from immersing yourself in a different country and culture plus the incredible network of contacts that you assemble as you travel.
Our students have benefitted from working in countries all over the world:
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
Students gain a deeper understanding of a concept if they experience it first-hand which is why all programs in STHM contain field trips to get students out of the classroom enjoying real world learning. Why not explore the real issues and complexities of a tourist resort by visiting one in our undergraduate programs? While students in our graduate programs have visited Dubai to research the progress, economy and sustainability of the area as well as investigated London, England as a global best practices destination by exploring the city and learning from their industry professionals.
International Student Exchanges
How do you fancy studying in Europe? Does the thought of sitting on a cobbled pedestrian square surrounded by heritage buildings while enjoying the vibrant outdoor café culture with the Alps as a backdrop appeal to you?
STHM has partnered with institutions in Germany and Austria offering students the opportunity to live and study abroad for one semester.
